Jessica has a Master’s degree in German and Film Studies from the Free University of Berlin. She has curated exhibitions for a number of Berlin museums, including the Jewish Museum. She has also worked for Jüdische Allgemeine, Germany’s weekly Jewish publication as a freelance film journalist. Strong emotional ties led her to her South African relatives, a journey of discovery that resulted in her documentary Roads/Roads to Reconnection. Her family history is unique, with a Jewish father who survived the Holocaust and a maternal grandfather who was a well-known Nazi filmmaker. Jessica utilises her family history to explore both the devastation of the Holocaust and the road to recovery.
