Traces of the past, message to the future—Jewish heritage in Poland today

Approximately 3.5 million Jews were living in Poland in 1939. About 90% of them perished during the Holocaust, leaving behind an incredible intellectual legacy and material heritage, comprising literature, art, architecture, film and music; religious traditions, prayers, places of worship, and Jewish law codification; houses and apartments; cemeteries; and cultural sites. Who are the people taking care of the Jewish heritage in Poland today? What is their motivation to do so? We will investigate these questions by means of relevant examples.
